Travel writer and blogger Norm Shriever says he can make it through six months of travels in Asia with only one backpack and a small bag carrying his electronic equipment. This will come as shocking news to my former girlfriends.
I know, I know—women have to carry all those shoes. But so does Norm. He says he takes a pair of loafers, running sneakers, and flip flops as well as jeans, seven tank tops, seven t-shirts, three dress shirts, three swim suits that can double as shorts, underwear, a baseball hat, fisherman’s hat and a hooded sweatshirt for clothes.
Oh, and a long-sleeved, Lycra shirt.
He packs a Violight sanitizing toothbrush case—something I’d never heard of but whose name says it all—and travel-sized toiletries that he replenishes while on the road.
He swears he can pack all this into a North Face Base Camp duffel bag-cum-backpack.
Then there’s his MacBook Pro, GoPro Hero 3 Black camera, solar chargers, iPod, iPhone, Kindle, portable speaker, travel adaptor, and two headphones that he carries in a separate bag.
Along with a neck pillow, that’s pretty impressive. I’m in awe.
